Sophie Calle - Research

A proposed idea by the group, was to single out a person on the street and secretly aim to make their day better by whatever means possible, be it holding the door open, offering an umbrella. Using the 7 of us we would be able to do it in such a way without raising suspicion. To help us better understand this possible concept we've looked at an artist called Sophie Calle, now usually I hate to quote from wikipedia as it's often seen as unreliable, but the following biography about her seems to summarise her work well.
Sophie Calle (born 1953) is a French writer, photographer, installation artist, and conceptual artist. Calle's work is distinguished by its use of arbitrary sets of constraints, and evokes the French literary movement of the 1960s known as Oulipo. Her work frequently depicts human vulnerability, and examines identity and intimacy. She is recognized for her detective-like ability to follow strangers and investigate their private lives. Her photographic work often includes panels of text of her own writing.

Here is an image showing an exhibition featuring her work.
